A timeline of events leading up to and around the celebrations of 800 years of Montgomery Castle.

Come and join us in the celebrations and merriment with a range of stalls, costumes and Medieval Music

There will be events running all day along side those listed below

10.30am - 16.00pm - Street Fair, Food & Have a Go workshops
11.00 - Onwards, Castle and armour exhibition at the Old Bell Museum
11.00am - Childrens Trail
11.00am Street Music

This will be open on Sunday 1st October from 9am until 5pm, then daily 11am to 4pm throughout the following week until Saturday 7th.

A commemorative booklet will be available for purchase during the October 1st celebrations

Walkers are Welcome: In the footsteps of Kings

Pageant assembles and procession begins Declaration and entertainment Tug of war Announcements (Crier) and welcome from the High Sheriff 

3.30pm

Saturday afternoon: 3.30pm Ring out those bells

In the early afternoon of Saturday 30th, a team of bell ringers will attempt a full peal of the bells at St Nicholas' Church. Nick Jones from Pontypool will lead a band of ringers from around the UK. Nick is attempting to ring at every tower in Wales which is dedicated to St Nicholas. The bell ringing on 30th September is timed to mark the 800th anniversary weekend of Montgomery Castle which also shares its origin date with the church.
